Job Description
Medical Officer
Duties and Responsibilities
- Represent the hospital and liaise with local and national authority’s donor agencies to promote the hospital programs
- Advice the management and board on clinical requirements
- Carry out surgical procedure when necessary
- Conducting internal quality checks at the hospital
- Develop clinical protocol and procedures in line with the current SOPs
- An officer at this level will work under guidance of a senior officer
- Diagnosing, caring and treating diseases
- Performing medical and surgical procedures
- Preparing and responding to emergencies and disasters
- Participating in management of medicines, medical instruments and equipment
- Providing health education, maintaining medical records, health information and data.
Requirements for Appointment
- Be a Kenyan citizen
- Bachelors of Medicine and Bachelors of Surgery (M.BCh.B.) degree from a recognized University.
- Minimum of B+ Mean Grade at KCSE
- Successfully completed one (1) year internship from a recognized institution.
- Registration Certificate from Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Council (KMPDC).
- Valid practicing license from KMPDC
- Training and knowledge in BLS, ACLS and ATLS are added advantages
- Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution is an added advantage
